All officers of the GOYA will be considered examples for each of the youth group members to follow. All officers will be responsible for the office responsibilities as specified in the follow guidelines.

 
President

A nominee for President must be a past officer and/or a high school senior during the term to be served. If no seniors or past officers are present at the nominations then a high school junior or a past officer may be nominated for the office of President.

Among others, the responsibilities of the President include:
1. drafting the agenda for each meeting
2. chairing each meeting
3. attending the monthly state P/VP meeting
4. overseeing the general operations of the GOYA
 
Vice President

A nominee for Vice President may be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior. They will assist the President in the daily operations of the GOYA. They will also be responsible for the upkeep and updating of the GOYA bulletin board in the church hallway. They will also attend the monthly state P/VP meetings with the President.
 
Treasurer

A nominee for Treasurer may be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior. The Treasurer will work closely with an advisor with the collection of monies of the GOYA and the immediate deposit of funds into the GOYA checking account. The treasurer is responsible for the payment of all bills, which have been approved by the officers and advisors. The Treasurer will also keep an updated report of all monies spent and deposited and give a report at each meeting.
 
Historian
The nominee for Historian may be a high school sophomore, junior or senior. The responsibilities of the Historian will be to take pictures at each GOYA event and after approval of an advisor add them to the GOYA picture case in the church hallway. The Historian will create and submit a monthly article to the church newsletter by the date requested
 
Recording Secretary

A nominee for Recording Secretary may be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior. The Recording Secretary is responsible to take formal notes (minutes) at each meeting and present a formal report at each meeting. The Recording Secretary will also provide information to the Historian so that he or she can prepare the GOYA section of the monthly newsletter of the church.
 
Corresponding Secretary

A nominee for Corresponding Secretary may be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior. The Corresponding Secretary is responsible for any and all correspondence to and from the GOYA. This will include the sending of thank you cards, Christmas cards, etc. The Corresponding Secretary, with the approval of an advisor, will also be responsible for the organization and execution of the email and phone notices.
 
Mr. and Miss GOYA

A nominee for Mr. And Miss GOYA should be a high school junior or senior. Nominees for Mr. and Miss GOYA are chosen to represent the church of St. George and should be an active member and through their example, talents and accomplishments best exemplify the GOYA motto “Live Your Orthodox Faith”. The representatives will need to complete an application and interview process, along with a required summer reading. If chosen to be finalist, they must be prepared to publicly answer a religious question from the required book. In the event that a male or female is not eligible and/or willing to participate, GOYA members from younger grades may be chosen to escort an eligible candidate.
 
Divers

As per the direction of the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of New Jersey, two males (one junior and one senior) and two females (one junior and one senior) will be elected from the GOYA to dive for the cross at the Holy Cross Celebration in September, hosted by the community of St. George in Asbury Park. The nominees should be good swimmers and proper bathing attire is required.
